Tijuana Christian Mission, founded in 1964 with campuses in Tijuana and Rosarito Beach, is Shepherd Grove Presbyterian Church’s longest running mission partner. Tijuana Christian Mission provides for over 100 children that range from being newborns to 18 years old.
In addition to providing housing, the dedicated Tijuana Christian Mission staff, led by Sara, Seth and Martha Gomez, share the love of Jesus Christ with the abandoned, orphaned and lonely children of Tijuana. Staff members work together to meet not only the physical needs of the children, but their emotional and spiritual needs as well. There are opportunities to serve both short and long-term in areas such as dental care, facilities repairs and maintenance, afterschool programs, or simply helping with the care and nurture of the kids.
Each year our church participates in an annual Christmas gift program. Volunteers select a photo of a Tijuana Christian Mission child or staff member, purchase a gift for them, then take the photo home to display on their own Christmas tree as a reminder to pray for that child or staff member.
This year we have 50 kids and staff who would greatly appreciate receiving a gift! If you want to participate, stop by the Outreach table on the Courtyard on Sunday mornings and select from the available photos then go shopping!
Please return wrapped gifts by Sunday, December 1 since their party is on December 7th!
